LifeConnect provides highly trained and accredited clinical psychologists, general psychologists and psychotherapists.
Sessions for individuals are for 50 minutes. Relationship counselling and family therapy are usually 1.5 hours.
Phone or Skype counselling sessions are also available for clients located in remote places or when travelling.
If your General Medical Practitioner has referred you, you just need to phone or email to book your initial 50 minute consultation. If your Medical Practitioner has not referred you, we allow 1 hour 20 minutes for the initial consultation.
Some people are unsure of what approach they need. The first half an hour discussion at LifeConnect is an opportunity to address this question.
We aim to find the best approach and practitioner to suit the individual’s needs. There is no charge for this initial 30-minute discussion if you do not have a Medicare referral

No. You can just call us or walk in and make an appointment.
If you have a medical referral from your general practitioner you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate for a limited number of sessions.
If you are interested in making a claim under Medicare you will need to ask your General Medical Practitioner about the 2710 Mental Health Care Plan.
Yes. If your have a referral from your doctor we can process your Medicare rebate at the time of payment at LifeConnect.
Medicare does not cover some types of therapy such as relationship counselling or family therapy.

Yes. LifeConnect therapists are registered with several insurance agencies including WorkCover, NIB and HCF.
The fees at LifeConnect are based on the Australian Psychological Society recommended schedule, which is currently $228 for a standard 50-minute session. The fee you are charged depends on the service, your situation and the practitioner.
The current range of fees is as follows:
at the lowest end of the scale if you are a patient with a mental health care plan from your medical practitioner, your psychologist may at their discretion bulk bill you under certain circumstances e.g. unemployment; at the highest end of the scale a consultation with one of the directors is $340. Most fees fall within this range.
You should discuss fees with your practitioner in the initial session.
