Cheryl Assuage, RN, Dip Psychotherapy, Member ANZAP

 

Cheryl is a founding Director of LifeConnect and has over 30 years experience working with clients and patients in various medical and therapeutic settings. Her central interest is with clients who suffer from mental health issues or clients that may have psychological issues that contribute to both personal and relational pain and suffering. All of these issues can also cause disruption to everyday life both personally and in the workspace.

Cheryl has been in the private practice for more than 25 years. She has background training in self-psychology, the conversational model and mindfulness based stress reduction. One of the highlights in her training was the completion of the ANZAP Diploma in Psychotherapy. She also completed some of her training in mindfulness with Jon Kabat Zinn.

Cheryl’s clinical training and experience as a Psychotherapist & Relationship Counselor allows her to bring a wealth of knowledge, compassion and insight to her work. In addition to psychotherapy, Cheryl has cultivated a deep interest in the therapeutic application of mediation to relieve stress and suffering in peoples lives. She regularly provides MBSR courses. Finally, she has a special interest in the developmental phases of life and has applied, lectured and taught this subject for many years. She has developed the practical application of these insights, and is the author of the successful life map programs, supporting couples and partners to deepening their relationship to live more fulfilled and enriched lives together. and has served on several boards.
